Fountain of the Bride and Groom: marriage and harmony

This depicts the happy young princes, Isabel and Ferdinand, anxious to meet one another.  An innocent image of two carefree children, that was to change after their secret marriage in Valladolid on October 19, 1469.  This union would change the history of Spain, as over the years to come the lives of these newlyweds proved very complicated.  Years of war and diplomacy followed and the Royals became known to the public all over their dominions as heads of the kingdoms and finally as Los Reyes Católicos (The Catholic Kings). From that time on, all responsibility and blame was to fall upon them.
