Number 4

The House of Isabel: The Crown of Castilla and León (Tower)

In contrast to Number 2, here we are reminded of Isabel’s House, encompassing the Kingdoms of Castilla and Leon and combining all these territories that would belong to Queen Isabel I of Castilla, as Proprietress and Lady.  With the support of her husband during the Castilian Civil War up to late 1479 (the Treaty of Alcaçovas-Toledo and the Tecerías de Moura) and 1480 (Leyes de Toledo) providing a solid foundation from which she achieved her life’s ambition: that of the handing over of a rich, strong crown peacefully, for her own personal gain, prioritizing Castilla before Aragón within a common project, but which was also in her husband’s interest.
